This introductory course will have three main emphases:Library: Headquarters Map
An overview of genealogical research, including how to get started, citing sources and organizing research findings.
Basic library skills, including a discussion of the Dewey Decimal system, the online library catalog, resource formats (print, microform and electronic), and collection guides and finding aids.
An overview of resources available in the Special Collections Department.
This workshop is appropriate for those beginning their genealogical research and have little or no previous experience.
Registration is limited to 25 participants. Registration opens April 25, 2013.
