 The St. Louis Symphony Read to Succeed Program focuses on community outreach and encourages literacy among all students. St. Louis Symphony Musicians who are active participants of the Education Programs offered by the STL Symphony are committed to bridging the gap between academia and the arts. The St. Louis Symphony Education Department has teamed up with the Natural Bridge Branch for the first annual event, that will take place on June 4, 2014 at 10:00 am. St. Louis Symphony Musicians Tina Ward, Shawn Weil and Tod Bowermaster will tell the story of Peter and the Wolf through music. Students will hear musicians speak to the importance of music literacy as symphony musicians while they make meaningful connections to the importance of literacy and academic achievement among students. This event will serve as the kickoff for the unveiling of the St. Louis Symphony Education Departmentís Summer Book Reading List.
